Here is a poster I designed and illustrated for a night some friends of mine are putting together. It actually starts tomorrow at Blue Dog, here in MTL. Hopefully some of you Montreal’ers will come out and support. It’s gonna be a wicked night of Motown and cheap drinks.
Here is the poster I recently put together for the BNO reunion show. They were handscreened and limited to 45, so if you got one consider it a rare piece of BNO history. Anyways, here is the poster. It is super offensive.

I haven’t written on here in forever, and haven’t really thought about it either. Been listening to a ton of music these days though, and sort of been obsessing over certain bands. Two in particular are Dead Man’s Bones and Samiam.
One is super old, and the other is super new. But check them both out. Stellar, stellar tunes.

I love Sufjan Stevens, a lot. And there is one particular instance where listening to him really sticks out in my mind. I think it was the 45th (exagerated) time this certain girl and I had broken up, and we were in her car at the lake in Oakville talking things out. I guess ‘Illinois’ had just come out, and I was listening to it pretty heavily at the time, with that night not being an exception. Long story short, between Sufjan and The Postal Service accompanying us that night, I don’t think anything was ever really figured out. Fast forward a little while, and we did get back together – we probably got back together a few times actually – but eventually she moved across the world, and our time came to an end. It’s crazy to think that from the age of 15 to 24, her and I probably had a million of those car sessions, with a million different types of music coming through the speakerss. But, that night was definitely the one that stuck with me, and now every time I hear Sufjan I will associate it with sitting in that Volkswagen, overlooking the lake, and trying to figure out how complicated life can be.
Oh, and here is a new Sufjan Stevens song. Enjoy.
Here is an article in The Financial Post about the fridge door project I was recently part of.
Check out a video of Gordie, Frank and I talking about our fridge doors that we we’re recently commissioned to do for Toronto Hydro. We are all pretty awkward dudes, and on camera even more so.

It is one of those pit in the stomach, feeling like i’m thinkin’ to much kind’ve days. When you think you’re doing everything you should be, but realize that maybe it’s just not enough. When in retrospect everything looks fine, should be fine, but is missing that one certain something that would tie it all together. Work, life, art, girls – everything. For the life of me, I would really like to find out what this magical piece to the puzzle is.
Maybe it’s just the end of summer blues, and i’ll snap out of it – who knows. One thing I know for certain is that music is something that can really accommodate my ‘moods’. So, here are a few select tracks I have lined up for today – Oh, and don’t jump to conclusions, as i’m sure everyone who reads my blog does. Life is good, and things are fine, I just think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something.

Check this video out. Super awesome.

Here is my finished fridge. It got shipped off a couple weeks ago, and was being displayed this weekend. It turned out a lot different then what I initially had in mind, but I am down the outcome.

It might be a little late, but if you are in Toronto today then go check out the Junction Art Festival. Myself and some of the dudes have work being displayed. And if you are around in October then come by Sleeping Giant gallery, where Gordie and I will have some stuff up. Should be a good time.

I woke up extra early and made sure that this was coming home with me.
I don’t care that the photo is backwards, you get the point. Oh, and yes, Elvis Presley was the King of Rock & Roll.

I rarely go to the movies, but today I decided that since I have finished a lot of work lately, and really needed some time to just sort’ve ‘enjoy’ myself, I would check out a flick.
We saw Inglourious Basterds, and I left it thinking about how amazing it was, and that it could be one of my top films of the year. Well, fast forward a few hours, some beers and wine later, and Gordie saying we should watch the new Robin Williams movie called ‘World’s Greatest Dad’.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but I love Robin williams (Awakenings was amazing), so I was super down. All I can really say is to watch the trailer, and then find the movie online (or go see it in the theatre).
I will leave it at this and say that I really never would have guessed that Bobcat Goldthwait could write and direct my favorite movie I have seen so far this year. If that’s not enticing enough to check it out, I don’t know what is. (It’s like someone saying the Hamburgler and Grimace were in a playoff for the British Open, but the fry guys got a hole in one and blew everyone away)
Just watch the trailer, and enjoy.
The fridge door I’ve been working on got picked up today to be shipped back to Toronto for the Junction Art’s Festival next week. Here are a few photos of the process, and one of me eating a burrito while holding a hammer.
This is the gnarly glue that is still all over me, my room, my clothes, and anything I have been in contact with the last two days.
The pictures don’t really do it justice, but as soon as I have some better ones I will put them up. And, if anyone has been following this project I am sure you can tell it looks nothing like I initially envisioned. I went for a more collage type feel, while still keeping the original idea in mind. I think it turned out pretty good, considering anytime I have any sort of deadline for ‘art’ I wait until the very last minute. For whatever reasons I think my work turns out better when i’m put under the gun.
